Service Description

Marriage and Family Therapists—Informed Consent for In-Person and Telehealth Services” will review the AAMFT Code of Ethics as well as 201 KAR 32:050 as they relate to the practice of Marriage and Family Therapy—specifically addressing components related to informed consent. Participants will review both codes and discuss the importance of having a Framework for Ethical Decision Making to include understanding the inter-relationship between ethics and laws and always choosing the higher standard. Participants will develop their own ethical decision making framework during the course. Participants will further discuss how then to deliver ethically and legally sound informed consent discussions and documentation to their clients-for both in-person service and telehealth services. The importance of consultation and ongoing collaboration with Professional Peers will be stressed as well as self-care. Objectives: 1.) Discuss why having a set Ethical Code is importance to the profession of Marriage and Family Therapy 2.) Review the AAMFT Code of Ethics, specifically how it relates to Informed Consent 3.) Discuss the KY 201 KAR 32:050, specifically how it relates to Informed Consent 4.) Describe the inter-relationship between Ethical Codes and Law and explore the need to align with the “Higher Standard” 5.) Explain the needed verbal discussions and documentation of informed consent as it relates to Telehealth Services 6.) Analyze an Ethical Decision Making Framework This training was approved by the KENTUCKY BOARD OF LICENSURE FOR MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPISTS on March 21, 2024 and qualifies for 3 hours of Marriage and Family Ethics and 2 hours of Telehealth specific ethics.

If this occurs, you will be notified, and a full refund will be initiated within 72 business hours of the cancellation. Brighter Futures Trainings & Consultation's liability for cancellations is limited to the cost of the registration fee. Brighter Futures Trainings & Consultation is not responsible for other expenses incurred by the customer if training is cancelled.
